Ella Mae was born January 29, 1931, in Willmar, the daughter of Alexander and Ebba (Anderson) Carlson.  She was baptized and later confirmed her faith at Svea Lutheran Church.  She attended country school and graduated from Willmar High School with the Class of 1948.  On August 12, 1950, Ella Mae married Dick Wiegmann at the Willmar Gospel Tabernacle.  Following their marriage, they moved to their farm near Raymond.  To this union ten children were born.  Ella Mae kept busy raising their children and helping Dick on the farm.  After the children were grown, Ella Mae began working at Willmar Poultry Company, retiring after 16 years.  Dick preceded her in death in 1982.  In 1986, Ella Mae was united in marriage to Marcus Noordmans at Raymond Christian Reformed Church.

Ella Mae enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables, canning much of her produce.  Her family remembers her love of baking and cooking, making the best bread, klub and lutefisk.  She enjoyed going to garage sales and shopping at thrift stores. But most of all, she loved time spent with family and especially her grandchildren and her faithful companions, her dogs, Jack and Charlie.

Surviving are her children: Karen (Jon) Swanson of Pennock, Sandra (Wayne) Anderson of Apple Valley, Wendy (John) Venzke of Moose Lake, Dale (Mary) Wiegmann of Willmar, Debra (Dale) Heide of Faribault, James (Linda) Wiegmann of Raymond, Pamela (Mark) Peterson of Atwater, Daniel (Sue) Wiegmann of Sunburg, Maxine (Lyle) Stueven of Annandale, Janice (John) Wiegert of Pillager; step-children: Teri (Marvin) Asche of Raymond, and Duane (Alvina) Noordmans of Willmar; 25 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and other family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Dick, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marcus; parents and her siblings: Minnie, Edwin, Harry, Axel, Eldon and Viola; and step-children: Jeff Noordmans and Marcy Swanson.
