Elwood “Woody” Williams, 80 of New London, died Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar from complications of a heart attack. A visitation will be from 4-7:00 pm. Friday, August 26, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home in New London. Graveside services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Echo City Cemetery in Echo.
Elwood LeRoy Williams was born on August 27, 1941 in Echo, the son of Frank and Adeline (Marquardt) Williams. He grew up on the family farm south of Redwood Falls and graduated from Redwood Falls High School in 1959.
After spending several years in Washington State and later divorcing, he returned to Willmar working at Universal Speedy Print and meeting
his life partner, Bev Lambert. Woody enjoyed reading, bluegrass/gospel music, telling stories and traveling with Bev in their motor home and wintering in Arizona.
Woody is survived by his life partner of 28 years, Bev Lambert; daughter, Kim (Jeff) Winkelmann of Spokane, WA; grandchildren, Alex (Constance) Racey, Sara Winkelmann (fiancé, David Worthey) and Leo Winkelmann; great-granddaughter, Chandler all of Washington; Bev’s children, Dodd (Robin) Lambert and Jolene Lambert; grandchildren, Zach (fiancé, Bailey) Samantha, Michael, and Mara; great-grandchildren, Laila, Christian, and Gregory; brother, Bob (Karen) Williams and his special rescue dog, Mimi.
Woody was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald.
