Erik Krieger, age 58, of Bloomington, formerly of Kerkhoven, died Tuesday, September 21, at his home in Bloomington.
A celebration of Erik's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, at Grant and Cindy Krieger's farm near Kerkhoven. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home.
Erik Evan Krieger was born June 12, 1963, in Benson, Minnesota, the son of Roland and Dorothy (Schobert) Krieger. At a young age, he moved to the family farm near Kerkhoven. He attended Kerkhoven schools and graduated from KMS High School in 1981. Following graduation, Erik enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and served as a staff sergeant in North Carolina, Colorado, and Okinawa, Japan until his discharge in 1989. He then worked in the Twin Cities as a mail carrier from many years. Erik enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage, helping his brother Grant on the farm, and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his three children: Robyn, Meghan, and Jordan; three grandchildren: Gilberto, Alejandro, and Ilyanna; and four siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents; his godson, Derek; and three siblings.
