Evelyn Joan Adey Remsberg, 83, of Willmar, died peacefully in her sleep on May 22nd, 2020.

A private family service will be held. Memorials preferred to Safe Avenues of Willmar or a charity of choice. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar, www.hafh.org.

Evelyn was born in Grand Rapids, MN on June 8th, 1937 to Everett and Ruby Adey. In 1955 she graduated from Northwestern Hospital School of Nursing in Minneapolis with her R.N. degree and then worked as a nurse in pediatrics at Fairview Riverside Hospital. In 1958 she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Remsberg and they moved to Olivia, MN in 1960. They had 3 children, Scott Remsberg, Renee Remsberg, and Kerry Johnson. Throughout her years, Evelyn worked at Renville County Hospital, Rice Memorial Hospital, Willmar Regional Treatment Center and Renville County Public Health.

Evelyn enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, crafting, playing piano and guitar, visiting with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She believed in giving back to the community and helping others and enjoyed volunteering her time and resources to that end. She taught CPR for the Red Cross and American Heart Association and was part of the group that pioneered the hospice program in Renville County. She also helped start the Renville County Clothing Center in Olivia. In her later years, Evelyn volunteered at Safe Avenues Shelter and Willmar United Methodist Church.

Evelyn eventually met her beloved partner of 22 years, Tom Weeks. They enjoyed wintering in Arizona and art fairs in the summer.

She is survived by her partner, Tom Weeks of Willmar; her children, Scott (Lynn) Remsberg of Underwood, MN, Renee (Jim) Hair of Rochester, MN, and Kerry (Scott) Johnson of Willmar, MN; her brother, Larry (Susan) Adey of Princeton, MN; grandchildren, Jessica (Brian) Edwards, Sara Squibb, Holly (Jon) Morales, and Heidi (Aaron) Minter, and Rachel Kohler and Laura Kohler; and her great grandchildren, Kellan, Megan, Paige and Lucas, Amelia, Audrey and Arbor, Stella, Roman, and Lachlan.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Remsberg in 1997; and her parents.
