Forrest Don Foster, 48, Lake Lillian, passed away May 16, 2026, as a result of a motorcycle accident. His Celebration of Life will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, May 20th at Assembly of God in Willmar, with a visitation starting one hour prior to the service. Funeral arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home. www.hafh.org
Forrest was born February 2, 1978, in Monterey, California, to Scott and Jane (Doerhoefer) Foster. At one year old, he moved with his family to Okinawa, Japan, and later, they returned home to Minnesota, where he attended Willmar & New London-Spicer Schools. After high school, he worked at Central Tire & Auto and for the past 25 years he worked at Midwest Underground. He was also a very talented car mechanic and auto body tech. He could fix anything and would help anybody in their time of need.
In October of 1999, he married LeeAnn Werder and together, they were blessed with four children.
Forrest had a need for speed, whether his race car, motorcycle, boating or barefooting. He loved doing all things with his family, whether lake days, going to bingo, having bonfires, playing pool and he loved his guitar and music. He truly loved his kids and grandkids. He was soft spoken and a man of few words, but his smile and laughter were contagious. He was a proud member of the KRA Speedway family. On his car, it read, “Too Broke to Cheat,” because he made many repairs on his own and was an honest racer. One of his favorite past times was working on his race car and being on the track with his racing friends & family.
Forrest is survived by his parents, Jane Vikse and Jerome Vikse, children; Briana (Preston) Shea and their children; Kristen Foster (Koby) and their children; Owen Foster, Addelyn Foster. Also surviving are his siblings, Travis (Christine) Foster and their children; Morgan (Alyssia) Foster and their children; Jenna Vikse, Jasmine Vikse (Dylan) and their children and JaLanny Vikse (Chris); and his paternal grandparents, Don & Dee Foster.
He was preceded in death by his father, Scott Foster, on May 20, 2025; maternal grandparents, Ray and Doris Doerhoefer; and John and Olive Vikse, aunt, Darlene Buer, Baby Morgan Foster, as well as other nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.
