Gary G. Stamps

Gary Stamps, 76, of Belgrade, died Saturday, September 4, 2021 at GlenOaks Care Center in New London.  A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at Crow River Lutheran Church near Belgrade.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.  Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade. 

Gerald (Gary) George Stamps was born on July 17, 1945 in Minneapolis, the son of George and Winifred (Roach) Stamps.  He grew up in Minneapolis and attended Holy Rosary Elementary and South High School.  On September 8, 1979, Gary was united in marriage to Carol Johnson at Gausdal Lutheran Church.  They made their home in the Belgrade area where he worked as an over the road truck driver until his retirement in 2008. 

Gary enjoyed watching sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins.  He loved playing cards, spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren grow. 

Gary died on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Glen Oaks Care Center in New London at the age of 76.  He is survived by his wife, Carol of 42 years; children, Steven (Allyssa) Keske, Melissa (Roberto) Ramos, Amanda Stamps (Adam Schwalbe), Cheryl Garvick (Dustin Martin), Danny Garvick (Michelle Martinson) and Terry Garvick Jr. (Cheryl DeLong); 18 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and siblings, Shirley (John) Carlson, Jerome Stamps and Linda Moratzka.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
