Gregory Plowman, 64, of Willmar, died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at his home in Willmar. A graveside service with military honors will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, at Holland Township Cemetery in Prinsburg. Gregory Alan Plowman was born August 22, 1958, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Maurice and Bonita (Hebrink) Plowman. He grew up and received his education in Willmar. In 1976, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for a year on the U.S.S. Jason out of San Diego.
On April 28, 1978, Greg was united in marriage to Paula Whipp and three children: Sarah, Rebecca and Heather were born to their marriage. They divorced in 1985 and Greg moved to California. On August 17, 1986, he married Brenda Campbell at Redlands Chapel in California. They later moved back to Willmar, where they have resided since.
Greg was employed at Concrete Products of New London, Menards, WalMart, and for the past 17 years at Home Depot, where he was known for his friendly and helpful assistance. He enjoyed hunting in his younger years and going to the gun range. Greg also enjoyed gardening and planted gardens in both his backyard and at the community garden. He was very good at handy work and was a good neighbor and friend.
Greg is survived by his wife: Brenda Plowman of Willmar, MN; his three daughters: Sarah (and Anthony) Parra of Kansas City, MO, Rebecca Conteras of Belton, MO, and Heather Plowman of Northglenn, CO; and six grandchildren: Samuel Huber (and significant other, Destiny), Mia Parra, Zack Parra, Allie Conteras, Cierra Roberts, and Hayden Roberts. Also surviving are his siblings: Daniel Plowman and Nanci (and Steven) Trevino; his in-laws: Jeanne Matuszewski, Joyce Murray, Richard Campbell, John Campbell, Joan Little, Tim Campbell and Kathleen Brundage; his nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Maurice Plowman and Bonita Anderson; and a grandson: Gabriel White.
