Gwen Louise Zimmer

Gwen Zimmer, age 69, of Willmar, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at her home. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Monday, December 9, at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.

Gwen was born on July 2, 1955, in Marietta, Minnesota, to Avis Miller. She grew up in Marietta, where she graduated in 1974. Afterward, she lived in Minneapolis for a time, working in data processing before moving to Willmar to attend Willmar Community College.

On July 2, 1977, Gwen married William Zimmer at the Church of the Nazarene in Willmar. The couple had three children: Jennifer, Jill, and Beth. Gwen worked at Jennie-O Turkey, Willmar Poultry, and the mailroom at the West Central Tribune. She also served as a caregiver for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Gwen had a variety of interests, including crossword puzzles, adult coloring books, reading, and watching classic movies. She enjoyed collecting recipes and dining out. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.

Gwen is survived by her husband, William; her children: Jennifer (Kyle) Handt of Brooten, Jill (Jeremy) McKenna of Willmar, and Beth Zimmer of Willmar; five grandchildren: Haylee, Thomas, Jordan, Sophia, and Benjamin; four great-grandchildren; and an uncle, Glen Taylor. She was preceded in death by her mother, Avis Miller; several aunts; and an uncle.
