Hilda (Petersen) Nieuwbeerta

Hilda Nieuwbeerta, 108, of Willmar died Saturday, November 19th at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.  Her memorial service will be 11:00 am, Friday, November 25th at Rock of Life CRC with Rev. Jeffery Vanderhooft officiating.  Interment is in Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.  Visitation will be one hour prior to her service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Rock of Life CRC or St. Jude’s Childrens Hospital.  Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.  www.hafh.org

Hilda was born April 1, 1914, in Clara City, the daughter of Euje and Hilka (Fokken) Petersen.  She grew up and attended District 66 in the Clara City area. 

On September 21, 1937, Hilda was united in marriage to Helmer Nieuwbeerta.  They lived in Prinsburg and Clara City before moving to Willmar in 1961.  She worked at Rice Memorial Hospital in housekeeping for 19 years.

Although Hilda had no children of her own, she loved any child she met. She babysat some from infancy to them starting school.

She is survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Helmer in 1995, her parents, one brother, and five sisters.
