Ina L. Holt, 89, of Willmar, died Friday March 27th at Bethesda Grand in Willmar. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 1st at Svea Lutheran Church. Visitation will be 4-6:00 pm, Tuesday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and continue one hour prior to her service at church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. www.hafh.org
Ina Lucile (Siegel) Holt was born on June 15, 1936 at the family home in Danube, Minnesota to Fred and Agnes (Agre) Siegel. She was baptized on July 3, 1936 at St. Mathews Lutheran Church in Danube and was confirmed on April 10, 1949 at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake. She went to school in Danube from 1936 - 1946 until moving with her parents to Buffalo Lake, Minnesota from 1946 - 1955. Graduating from Buffalo Lake High School in 1954. She then went on to Minnesota School of Business, graduating in 1955. After graduating, she moved to Willmar, Minnesota to work at Allstate Hatchery from 1955 - 1957.
She married Robert (Bob) Holt on October 5, 1957 at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota. They lived on the family farm south of Willmar where they raised corn, soybeans, alfalfa and oats. They were the parents of two children, Linda Sue and Thomas John. In 1964 Ina and Bob took over the family pie bakery, “Manley’s Bake Shop” which Bob’s parents had started. They ran the bakery until 1974. During this time they also milked cows and raised livestock. After closing the bakery, Ina worked at Norling Brothers Ag Systems of Svea, Minnesota from 1976 - 1984. She then worked as a Receptionist and Chiropractic Assistant at Mootz Chiropractic from 1985 - 2001. She retired November 15, 2001.
Ina enjoyed being a member of Svea Lutheran Church where she participated in the Svea WELCA, ladies church circle groups, Svea quilters, church choir, Young Adults group, church council, and helped start the church library. In the community she participated in the neighborhood birthday club and was also a Svea Stars 4-H club leader. Of course she loved her gardens, raising a variety of vegetables which she would can and freeze, along with a wide variety of flowers, especially loving the roses that she and Bob planted. In the fall of 2021, Ina moved from the farm to West View Village in Willmar. She enjoyed the company of her friends there along with knitting, while sitting on her patio.
Surviving family members include daughter, Linda (Jeffrey) Lopez of Raymond; son, Tom (Betty) Holt of Willmar. Granddaughters, Stephanie Rucker; Elizabeth (Mark) Wolf; Kaitlyn (Martin) Cabrera. Four great-grandchildren, Jaden Holt, Jayne, Finn and Mina Cabrera, along with other cousins and relatives.
Ina is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; brother, Russell Siegel and sister-in-law Berniece Siegel.
