Jack J. Eckstein

Jack J. Eckstein, 93 of Brooten, died Sunday November 19, 2023 at his home near Brooten.    Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooten.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade. 

Jack Junior Eckstein was born on January 14, 1930 in Hancock, the son of John C and Grace (Hubbard) Eckstein.  He grew up in Hancock until the family moved to Brooten in 1942.  On June 6, 1959, Jack was united in marriage to Arlene Buchholz at Trinity Lutheran Church.  They were blessed with three sons. They made the home on the Eckstein family farm south of Brooten where he farmed.  Jack and Arlene were able to share in 59 years of marriage before her death on October 5, 2018. 

Jack was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed playing horse shoe, bowling, hunting, puzzles, word finds and sudoku.  In his later years he drove bus for the University of Minnesota Morris and Riley Bus. 

Jack is survived by three sons, Bruce (Lola) Eckstein of Brooten, Brian (Shelley) Eckstein of Belgrade and Mark (Tracey) Eckstein of Belgrade; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and one sister.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; parents and 11 siblings.
