Jacqueline “Jackie” R. Pillatzki, 68, of New London, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Thursday, August 26th, 2021, following a year-long battle with cancer. A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 1st at 11 am, at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Spicer with visitation one hour prior to the service. She has generously donated her body to the U of M Anatomy Bequest Program. Interment will be in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery in Benson at a later date. Jacqueline Rose (Anderstrom) Pillatzki was born August 20,1953, in Willmar, Minnesota, to Burton and Cathrine (McDermott) Anderstrom. She grew up in Kandiyohi where she attended elementary school and St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She graduated from Willmar High School in 1971. She lived most of her life in Willmar and moved to New London in 1998.
On December 30th, 1993, Jackie was united in marriage to the late David L. Pillatzki Sr. to which a son, Sean, was born. Jackie worked for many years in group homes at Prairie Community Services and Fourth Avenue Homes. She was a hard worker and was treasured by her co-workers for her dedication and caring manner. Jackie spent the last year of her life enjoying the unexpected time off with her children and grandchildren, dining out and reconnecting with friends, and spoiling her three dogs. She showed a tenacious spirit as she fought her cancer.
Jackie is survived by her two children, Misti (Jeremy) Herbert of Blaine, Sean Pillatzki of New London, and grandchildren Madilyn, Andrew, and Noah Herbert, Meagan Andert; brothers, Paul (Rhonda) Anderstrom of Tehachapi, CA and Tad (Margie) Anderstrom of Yakutat, AK; and her three dogs: Tobi, Gizmo and Meeko.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, David, sister, Marianne D’Angelo, and special friend, Ken Andert.
