James Feldman Obituary

James “Jim” Dean Feldman, 56, of Murdock, died Saturday, October 12th at his home after a two-year battle with osteosarcoma.  His funeral will be 1:30 pm, Friday, October 18th at Bethel Baptist Church in Kerkhoven.  Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Thursday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. www.hafh.org

Jim was born November 21, 1962, in Montevideo, Minnesota, the son of Roger and Nelva (Schiebout) Feldman.  He attended elementary school in Clara City, MN and Dimmit, TX before the family moved to a farm near Kerkhoven.  He graduated from KMS High School in 1981.  He continued his education at Willmar Vo-Tech in Diesel Mechanics and graduated in 1983.

On June 25, 1988, he was united in marriage to Stacie Bowman at Bethel Baptist Church.  They were blessed with two children.  He drove truck for various trucking companies before owning his own trucking business in 2000.  He spent over 30 years in a truck before retiring in 2017 for health reasons.

He was baptized at Bethany Reformed Church on December 2, 1962, confirmed at Salem Covenant Church, rural Pennock in October 1978. He was baptized and became a member of Bethel Baptist on November 3, 2002, where he had been an usher and trustee.

Jim loved the outdoors.  He enjoyed gardening, mowing the grass and working in the yard.  You could usually find him in his shop tinkering on something.  He loved being a dad and a “Pops” to his treasured grandchildren.  He will be best remembered for his work ethic, his ingenuity, his steadfastness and his quiet faith.

Surviving are his loving wife, Stacie; daughter, Tabitha (and Mitch) Weflen and their children, Charley, Harvey & Marlan of the Twin Cities; and son, Taylor Feldman of Murdock; his father, Roger Feldman of Clara City and mother, Nelva Feldman of Willmar.  Also surviving are his sisters, Wanda Feldman and Lori Myers, both of Red Wing.

He was preceded in death by two infant brothers and his grandparents.
