Janis (Grande) Lindgren

Janis Lindgren, age 87, of Pennock, died Tuesday, October 27, at Carris Health Care Center in Willmar.

 Her memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, November 2, at Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Pennock with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be in the Mamrelund Cemetery.  Memorials are preferred to Mamrelund Lutheran Church.  Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.

Janis Arlene Lindgren was born June 2, 1933, in Atwater, Minnesota to John and Hattie (Wallin) Grande.  She was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atwater in 1947.  Janis attended school in Atwater, graduating from Atwater High School in 1951.  Her first job was working as a telephone operator in Willmar.  On April 17, 1954, she married Marvin Lindgren and they lived and farmed near Pennock.  Janis also worked at Pennock Oil Company and GTA Elevator in Pennock.

She was an active member of Mamrelund Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School.  Janis enjoyed flowers, traveling, jewelry, dressing up, and going out to eat.  She loved her family and enjoyed preparing for family gatherings.

Janis is survived by her husband: Marvin Lindgren of Pennock, MN; children: Jeff (and Lori) Lindgren of Fifty Lakes, MN, Jolene (and Dave) Ruschen of Raymond, MN, and John (and Angie) Lindgren of Willmar, MN; grandchildren: Jessica (and Josh) Lindgren Espinosa of Minneapolis, MN, Nicole (and Tyler) Lindgren Elliott of Mount View, CA, Jaclyn (and Shane) Miller of Clara City, MN; Dustin Ruschen of Raymond, MN; Taylor (and Jeff) Newberg of Sioux Falls,SD, Schyler Lindgren of Willmar, MN, and Jett Lindgren of Willmar,MN; eight great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Myrtle Nelson and Eleanor Johnson; a brother: Ardell Grande; and an infant great-grandson: Desmond Espinosa.
