Mary Jean Schmidt was born on October 5, 1939, in Willmar, Minnesota, to Albert and Mary (Warnick) Aldrich. She was raised in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1959. Following high school, Jean continued her education at St. Cloud Beauty School.
After completing her training in 1960, Jean worked as a beautician in St. Paul and eventually made her home in Raymond. She truly enjoyed her work and especially treasured the friendships she built with those she served. In addition to her time as a beautician, she also worked for several years as a Home Health Aide and did home cleaning.
Jean found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including attending parades and rodeos, playing cards, eating popcorn, and spending time dancing with her partner of 43 years, Delmer. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched many lives.
Jean is survived by her children: Laurie (Dave) Dykema of Osakis, Michael (Bobbie) Schmidt of Clara City and Randy Schmidt of St. Peter; significant other, Delmer Brant; six grandchildren: Ruslan Dykema, Dinara Dykema, Tia (Luke) Imdieke, Logan (Aleisha) Schmidt, Abbey (Mason) Bleick, and Ashlyn Schmidt; and eight great-grandchildren with one on the way; and sister-in-law, Barb Aldrich.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Duane Aldrich.
