Jeanette Larson, 85, of Willmar, died Saturday, August 31, 2024, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar.

Her memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 6, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Willmar with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Little Falls at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the donor’s choice are preferred.  Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home in Willmar, www.hafh.org.

Jeanette was born on June 12, 1939, in Windom, Minnesota, to Carrol and Marie (Orloske) Lehnhoff. At the age of two, she moved with her family to a farm near Eagle Lake, northeast of Willmar. She graduated from Willmar High School in 1957 and later attended McConnell Airline School in Minneapolis. Jeanette began her career as a bookkeeper for R.E. Torgerson & Co. in Willmar.

On November 14, 1959, Jeanette married Darrel Larson at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar. Together, they had four children: Timothy, Suzanne, Sheryl, and Shawn. They initially lived and farmed near Grove City before moving to Golden Valley, where Jeanette worked as a receptionist for General Electric. In 1974, they returned to Willmar and lived on Eagle Lake. Jeanette was employed as the assistant manager for the Dairy Queen in Willmar for many years and later worked at Sears, Walmart, and Willmar Junior High before retiring.

Jeanette was a dedicated member of Bethel Lutheran Church, actively participating in LCW, Bible study, Sunday school, and various church activities. Her community involvement extended to volunteering with Home Extension, Band Boosters, Campfire Girls, Boy and Girl Scouts, and Little League. She was also active with the V.F.W. and D.A.V. Auxiliaries. Jeanette had a passion for flower gardening and she enjoyed freezing and canning produce. Her hobbies included cross-stitch, baking, decorating her home for each season, and socializing over coffee with friends and neighbors. She cherished her time with Pomeranians, having owned five throughout her life, and treasured spending time with her family at Eagle Lake.

Jeanette is survived by her husband: Darrel; her children: Timothy Larson (significant other, Mary Jo Johnson) of Duluth, Suzanne Kersten (husband, Roger) of Plymouth, Sheryl Larson of Monticello, and Shawn Larson (significant other, Patrick Hans) of Minneapolis; and three grandchildren: Zachary Binder (wife, Kelsey), Amanda Hookom (significant other, Spencer Caretta) and Benjamin Hookom (significant other, Tattyana Kirk).  She was preceded in death by her parents: Carrol and Marie Lehnhoff.
