Jerome "Jerry" Skluzacek Obituary

Jerome “Jerry” Skluzacek, 55, of New London, died Tuesday, October 22, 2024.

Celebration of Life for Jerry Skluzacek will be held on Saturday July 12, 2025, in a park shelter at Robbins Island in Willmar, MN from 2-5 pm.  Everyone is welcome, so please join us for this informal gathering to share memories, offer support and honor a life well lived

Jerome “Jerry” William Skluzacek was born August 5, 1969, in Elmhurst, Illinois, to Elgin and Patricia (Fountain) Skluzacek. Due to his father’s work, his family moved to Wyoming. In 1981, his family moved back to his parents’ home state and resided in Kandiyohi, Minnesota. He graduated from New London-Spicer High School in 1987 and attended Willmar Vo-Tech for drafting. Jerry worked for Hanson Silo; for Grandview Buildings with Joe Fordyce; for Jesse Trebil; and since then, for FAST Global Solutions in Glenwood.

Jerry very much enjoyed deer hunting, duck hunting and fishing. He was a pet lover, especially his hunting dogs.  He was a very talented artist, including, but not limited to, drawings, paintings, wood burning, woodworking and restoration.  He enjoyed listening to music and playing bass guitar in various different bands throughout the years.  Jerry loved nature, whether doing yard work/gardening, watching the stars, building a campfire, sitting on his front porch, and much more.  He was well known to family and friends to often share a humorous joke or story. And as a jack of all trades that would always be there to help.  He took pride in being a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, son, fiancée, dog dad, relative, neighbor, and friend.

He is survived by his much-loved fiancée, Lisa Ford and her daughter, Harley; a son, Jacob Skluzacek of Willmar; a stepson, Kody Koepp (fiancée, Danelle Hansen) of Willmar and their two children, Jaxton and Luxley; and his mother, Patricia Skluzacek of Willmar. He is also survived by a brother, Guy Skulzacek (June) of Indiana and their two children, Zach and Emily; a sister, Erika Skluzacek (Chris Rummenie) of Florida; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Skluzacek of Fridley and her son Joe; additionally, his loyal companion, a chocolate lab named Coop; along with many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elgin Skluzacek; his brother, Bill Skluzacek; and his grandparents.

His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
