John G De Luna

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected and devastating loss of John G. De Luna Jr., 29, of Minneapolis formerly of Willmar, on October 21, 2025, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis with his family by his side. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Willmar Assembly of God and can be viewed online here. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at church.  Arrangements are with the Harvey Anderson and Johnson Funeral Home in Willmar.                                                          

John “Johnny” Gabriel De Luna Jr. was born July 17, 1996, in Willmar to John Sr. and Nichole (Guenther) De Luna. He grew up in Willmar where his childhood passions were skateboarding, snowboarding, hockey, and exploring his artistic abilities.  He was a 2014 graduate of Willmar Senior High School. After graduation, John's thirst for adventure brought him to traveling, which he loved. He went backpacking in Thailand, visited Guatemala, Europe, and traveled many states.   For the past 3 years, John and Madeline have resided in Minneapolis with their two cats, Onyx and Zephyr. 

John had a deep artistic soul and an appreciation for beauty in all its forms.  Through his art, music, and the simple moments, he shared deep connections with loved ones. His greatest gift was making those around him feel seen, heard, and valued. His enormous heart, and gentle spirit will live on far beyond the date of his passing. He will be remembered for sharing laughter, kindness, and understanding with family, friends, and strangers.

He is survived by his loving and supportive parents, John and Nichole; his brave and devout brother, Austin; the love of his life, Madeline; his loving grandparents; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and dear friends.  He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents.
