Jose Rodriguez Jr Obituary

Jose Briseno Rodriguez Jr. age 74 born December 30th 1947 died November 12, 2021 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, Minnesota surrounded by his brothers and sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jose Rodriguez and Ninfa Briseno Rodriguez. He had 16 brothers and sisters. He was the eldest son and third in birth.

He resided with Marsha Marie Long Elk and his children in Hibbing Minnesota.

He has 7 children with his first wife of 17 years, Stella Olivas. Eldest daughter Josefine Torres-Rodriguez, eldest son Joseph Rodriguez, son James Rodriguez. Preceded in death by his daughter Julia Abarca-Rodriguez. Daughter Jean Reyes-Rodriguez, son Gabriel Rodriguez, and son Eric Rodriguez.

He met the mother of his younger children, Marsha in 1989 and had three sons, one daughter and one adopted daughter, Racheal. The eldest son Thunder Cloud Rodriguez, daughter Christo Raine Rodriguez, son Conrad River Rodriguez, and Talon Long Elk Rodriguez. He has had 26 plus grandchildren. The eldest grandchild preceded him in death, Isaac Arnold. Second eldest grandchild and most beloved by Calvin R. Long Elk.

Jose was buried at Maple Hills Cemetery in Hibbing, Minnesota on November 19 2021. It was officiated by the Minister Stacy Sikes of “Church of Christ” where Jose was baptized and gave his confession of faith in Jesus Christ.

It's been said Jose took verse Genesis 9:7 literally, and so we acknowledge those not known.

Jose was a mechanic and worked as a migrant worker for many of his younger years. Later he was a truck driver and Marsha said he was a good provider to his children. He was a happy man, always smiling and had a kind and loving heart, willing to help those he could. He would have long in depth conversations of the word of God and God’s faithfulness to us.

And so we believe the promises of our God and Savior Jesus Christ as it is said in his Word, the Bible in 1 Thessalonians 4: 13

  Believers Who Have Died

13 Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14 For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
