Joyce A. Barber

Joyce A. Barber, 82 of New London, died April 13, 2025 at Glen Oaks Nursing Home in New London. Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, at Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private family interment will take place at a later date. Arrangements were made with Johnson Funeral Home in New London.

Joyce Ardis Foshager was born July 6, 1942 in Willmar to Lawrence and Mildred (Mead) Foshager. She attended country school through the 10th grade. Joyce married Harold Friehl and later divorced. Together they had three sons. On August 28, 1976 Joyce married Dick Barber. They lived in the Willmar and New London area the rest of their lives.

Joyce worked Willmar Regional Treatment Center as a caregiver for over 40 years. After her retirement she still helped with being an on call caregiver. Joyce was a member of the New London Auxiliary and The Red Hat Club. She loved music and going to Bingo. Those two things along with her grandkids were her life. She was also a member of Peace Lutheran Church in New London.  

Joyce is survived by her sons, David (Peggy) Friehl of Willmar and Duane (Shanna) Friehl of New London; daughter-in-law, Kammy Herzog of Willmar; step-children, Renae (Ronald) Flann, Greg (Pat) Barber, and Doug Barber; step-daughter-in-law, Pat Barber; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dick Barber; sons, Butch Friehl and Ricky Barber; and step-son, Steven Barber.
