Juanita Rivera

Juanita Rivera, 82, of Willmar, died Friday, January 20th at her home. Her funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Tuesday, January 24th at United Methodist Church in Willmar. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm, Monday, January 23rd at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and continue two hours prior to her service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. www.hafh.org

Juanita Rivera was born March 28, 1940, to Amado and San Juanita (Ramirez) Villareal in Rio Grande City, TX. She attended school in Rio Grande City Texas. On December 24, 1954, Juanita was united in marriage to the love of her life, Ramon Rivera Sr. To this union seven children were born. In 1988, they moved to Willmar where they made their home. Juanita enjoyed staying at home where she raised her children and grandchildren. She always had the doors open to family, friends or anyone in need and there was always food on the stove for them. Juanita enjoyed reading the bible, studying the gospel and always had a beautiful garden.  She was strong in her faith and would always pray for family, friends or stranger she met. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma and friend.

Juanita is survived by her children:  Amado (Maria) Rivera from Weslaco, TX, Juan Rivera of Willmar, Ramiro Rivera of Willmar, San Juanita (George) Casares of Willmar and Sylvia (Victor) Porras of Weslaco, TX; 23 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Ramon, and sons: Eduardo Rivera and Ramon Rivera Jr.
