Judy Lynn Denton was born April 12, 1947, to Herbert and Amy (Westlund) Kragenbring in Willmar. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Atwater. In 1963, the family moved to Hector where she graduated high school in 1965. She continued her education in Minneapolis where she studied Cosmetology. On March 24, 1968, Judy was united in marriage to Wayne Denton at First Lutheran Church in Hector. To this union, three children were born. They made their home in Atwater where Judy was a stay-at-home mom.  Later on, she worked at Vern’s Town and Country where she enjoyed working in the green house.  She was an active member at Bethlehem Lutheran Church where she helped teach Sunday school and she was involved in many various committees. She enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren in their extracurricular activities.  You could often see her with a video camera in hand recording the event, later changing to scrap booking for her grandchildren. She and Wayne also enjoyed taking family trips and camping. They went to northern Minnesota, Yellowstone, Florida and also to Diamond Lake. Her favorite pastimes were baking cookies and bars, bowling in league, and quilting with her church friends. She was a loving wife, mom, sister, grandma and friend.

Judy is survived by her children: Jason (Melissa) Denton of Atwater, Jennifer (Paul) Gjerde of Sunburg, and Megan (Edward) Hoekstra of Grove City; grandchildren: Madison, Jeana and Brock Denton; Samantha, Weston, Maret, Josie and Elsa Gjerde; Logan and Taylor Hoekstra. She is also survived by her siblings: Gregg (Robin) Kragenbring, and Maxine (Richard) Falk; mother-in-law, Eileen Denton and sister-in-law, Nancy Alstead.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wayne; parents: Herbert and Amy Kragenbring; sisters: Mary (Gene) Anderstrom and Audrey Kragenbring; and father-in-law, Eugene Denton.
