Karen Jean (Johnson) Ouren

Karen Jean Ouren, 77, died Wednesday, February 19th at Hubbard County Heritage Center in Park Rapids.  There will be a family service held at a later date with interment in Fairview Cemetery in Willmar.  Funeral arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home in Willmar. www.hafh.org

Karen was born March 5, 1947, in Fergus Falls, MN, the daughter of Arlington and Beryl (Davenport) Johnson.  She graduated from Fergus Falls High School and following graduation worked for Fergus Falls Clinic until 1984 when she was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

She was united in marriage to Roy Ouren on July 31, 1965 at Federated Church in Fergus Falls.  They lived in several communities while Roy worked for Jennie-O before moving to Willmar in 1990.

Karen enjoyed playing bingo, card games, a good cup of coffee or Diet Coke and spending time with family.

She is survived by her son, Scott (Bridgett) Ouren of Willmar; daughters, Kelly (Matt) Schloesser of Akeley and Kari (Steve) Sunder of Florence, AZ; sister, Donna O’Meara of Vancouver, WA; and grandchildren: Kaleigh Hoppe, Alexis (Caleb) Jensen, Dalton Adolphson, Jayden Sunder, Mallory Sunder, Mackenzie Ouren, Noah (Logan) Jensen, and great grandsons, Dawson, Parker and Owen Jensen and Aakil Neal.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy, on April 28, 2014, brother, Jeffrey and sisters, Gail and Nancy and brothers and sisters-in-law.
