Katherine Elizabeth Mackenzie

Katherine Elizabeth Mackenzie, 70, of Willmar, died Monday, September 15th at St. Cloud Hospital. Her celebration of life service will be at 11:00 am, Friday, September 26th at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be from 10:30 am until the time of the service. www.hafh.org

Kathy was born on October 20, 1954, the daughter of Borghild (Lee) Mackenzie and Lloyd Mackenzie.  At 8 years old her mother married Leo Baker of Willmar. She grew up in Willmar with her parents and her younger step-sister, Barbara, and graduated from Willmar High School.

She moved to Minneapolis after high school where she had a son, Gabriel.  Gabriel preceded her in death in 2021. In later years Kathy lived in Litchfield.

Kathy enjoyed painting and journaling. She loved animals and was always quick to bring home a stray or two. She had a great sense of humor, a big heart, and a big smile, despite the challenges she would face in later years.

She leaves behind her sister, Barbara (Scott) Billings of Londonderry, NH; and her very good friend who was like a sister, Karen Bjerke, of Willmar.

Besides her son, Gabriel, Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Borgie Baker.
