Kenneth Arthur Warren, 78, of Hopkins, died Monday, September 20th at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. His visitation will be from 1-3:00 pm, Saturday, October 2nd at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Private interment will be at a later date. www.hafh.org
Kenneth Arthur Warren was born September 21, 1942, to Arthur and Rosemond (Murch) Warren in Round Prairie Township. He attended country school near Round Prairie before starting to work on his family’s farm. At 17, Ken moved to Sauk Centre where he started working as a heavy machinery mechanic at Freddie’s Backhoe. On October 10, 1964, Ken was united in marriage to Diane Ostendorf at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sauk Centre. They later moved to Minneapolis where Ken worked for the Minnesota Department of Transportation, where he continued to work until 1980. Ken and Diane opened up K&D Cycle Accessories which he ran for a few years. He then worked at Twin Cities Harley-Davidson as a mechanic and also in the parts department, where he was still working part time. Ken enjoyed everything about motorcycles. He and Diane would go on day or weekend rides and even drove through 15 states in the same trip. He also enjoyed tinkering on bikes or old cars, watching old movies, college football, NASCAR, drag racing and going to breakfast daily with his friends at Hoagies Café. He was a loving husband, father, grandpa and friend.
Ken is survived by his daughter, Tina (David) Erpenbach of Spicer; grandson, Cody Leukam of Dover; and great-grandson, Wyatt Leukam. He is also survived by his siblings: Patsy Asmus of Isle, Sherrie (Andy) Wolbeck of Sauk Centre and Roger Warren of St. Cloud.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane; parents; and siblings: Linda Haggberg, Sandra Warren and Orville Warren.
