Kimberly Schackman, 63, of Pennock, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 1, 2026, at her home in Pennock.
Her memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 8, at Mamrelund Lutheran Church in Pennock, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Memorials are preferred to Mamrelund Lutheran Church. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Homes. Kimberly was born on October 11, 1962, in Paynesville, Minnesota, to Woodrow “Woody” and Linda (Jacobson) Manz. She grew up in Albert Lea and Paynesville and graduated from Paynesville High School in 1981.
On February 20, 1982, she married Michael Schackman at Mamrelund Lutheran Church. Three children—Sarah, Amber, and Grant—were born to their marriage. They made their home in Pennock, and Kim worked for Lutheran Social Services, Heritage Bank, and, most recently, Presbyterian Family Foundation before retiring.
Kim was a member of Mamrelund Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially at the “Red Cabin” on Portage Lake near Park Rapids.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Mike; her children, Sarah (Bill) Pattison of Willmar, Amber (Andrew) DeBoer of Willmar, and Grant (Amanda) Schackman of Mizpah; and nine grandchildren: Noah and Olivia Pattison; Gavin, Hadley, Jace, and Piper DeBoer; and Wyatt, Koogen, and Rhynn Schackman.
Also surviving are her parents, Woody and Linda Manz of Paynesville; her siblings, Tim (Nancy) Manz of Willmar and Laura (Greg) Laine of Hibbing; her brothers-in-law, Tim (Jo) Schackman of North Pole, Alaska; Tom (Donna) Schackman of Eureka, South Dakota; Mark (Shirley) Schackman of Kerkhoven; Terry (Roxanne) Schackman of Baxter; and Kurt (Gloria) Schackman of Avon; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Dave and Sharon Schackman.
