LaRose Irma Johnson

LaRose Johnson, 83, of Spicer, died Friday, April 28, 2023, at her home in Spicer.  Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar with visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be at Svea Lutheran Cemetery. 

LaRose Irma Johnson was born November 6, 1939, in Willmar, Minnesota, the daughter of Roy and Isola Johnson.  She grew up on the family farm in Kandiyohi Township, attended Goldenrod Country School, and graduated from Willmar High School in 1957.  She lived in Spicer for the past 20 years. She loved working at the House of Jacobs for many years and made many dear friends there.

LaRose loved fashion and had a large collection of clothes, shoes, purses, and jewelry.  She enjoyed shopping at garage sales and through the catalogs she received in the mail.  She also enjoyed visiting with her family, shopping with her sisters, and celebrating holidays. especially looking at Christmas light displays and Easter egg hunts.

She is survived by a sister: LaVonne Johnson of Tacoma, WA; two brothers: Steven (Dede) Johnson and Scott Johnson, both of Kandiyohi, MN; her nieces and nephews: Mark (Lynn), Rod (Cheryl), Mollie (Ryan), Andrew (Cinthia), Emily (Brian), Angie (Chad), Aaron (Alaina), Sven, and Mariah; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother: Dayton Johnson; two sisters: Arloueen Van Ort and Darlene Johnson; and a niece: Addy.
