Lana May Myers

Lana May Myers, 76, of Belgrade, died Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Bethesda Grand in Willmar. Her memorial service will be at a later date. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. www.hafh.org

Lana May Myers was born to Harold and Irma (Armstrong) Myers in Rugby, ND, on April 13, 1944. Lana and her family lived in Fargo where she attended elementary school until they moved to East Grand Forks. Lana graduated from East Grand Forks High School in 1962, she furthered her education at Moorhead State College, graduating in 1966 with a degree in English and a minor in Arts. She taught High School English in Fertile, MN, then Cokato for a year before working in Barnum. She retired from teaching in Barnum in 2005. She enjoyed drawing, quilting, crocheting, crafting and solving puzzles. She also enjoyed watching Syfy movies, especially Star Wars, reading books, playing games on the computer and she had a passion for astronomy. Lana was a member of the Rosebud Garden Club and also Country Quilters. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and cat mom.

Lana is survived by her siblings: Dorothy Anderson of Belgrade, Carole (Vernon) Berg of Erskine, Diana (Michael) Sletto of Crookston, and Glenn (Brooks) Myers of Grand Forks; nieces and nephews: Pauline (Mark Ekstrand) Berg, Alexander Berg, Roxanne Berg, Adrianne (Michael) Winger, Emily (Winston) Chapman, Rebecca (Will) Aho, Isaac (fiancée, Alysha Thielen) Sletto, 10 great- nieces and nephews; and honorary family members: Clayton Miller and his sons: Lukas and Ian. She also survived by her two cats: Gus and Joe.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother in infancy, Harold Myers Jr.
