Linda Margellos Obituary

Linda Nell Margellos, 72, of Rochester, Minnesota, died unexpectedly at her home on September 23, 2021. A private family service will be held at a future date. Online tributes are welcomed and may be posted at this website. www.hafh.org

Linda Nell Schultz was born November 28, 1948, in Waseca, Minnesota, to Lyle and Gilfie Rosella Schultz. Linda attended Waseca High School, graduating in 1966. After high school, Linda moved to Rochester where she worked as a legal secretary for Richard E. White, Attorney at Law, until his death in 1991. She then worked on a temporary basis for several law firms. Her final employment was with Walmart before retiring.

Linda met George Margellos at a restaurant they each frequented for dinner. Each sat at a separate table until George asked if he may join her. They enjoyed each other’s company, dated and married on September 18, 1999. Linda and George were true soulmates. Together, they were always on the go, attending theater performances, concerts, lectures at UMR, activities with the Korean War Vets, Greek Heritage Association conventions, travels within the United States, and a memorable trip to Greece. George died on January 8, 2017.

Linda was a member of the Penelope Heritage Association, Rochester International Association and its World Festival, History Center, Holy Anargyroi Church and its Philoptochos Society and Greek Festival Marketplace. Linda enjoyed reading daily newspapers at the public library, meeting friends for lunch dates, attending local theatre, going to garage sales, and visiting with her neighbors and was a Bob Dylan fan.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brothers, Jerry Hendrickson and Steven Schultz, and sister, Carolyn Turnacliff.

She is survived by her nephews: Daniel Turnacliff, Jeff Hendrickson, Ron Hendrickson, and nieces, Jill Gramstad, Tammy Quade, Kathy Picka, Bonnie Hauser, and Carrie Ribotto.
