Linda Marie Rohner, age 76, of Pennock, died on Friday, December 20, with her loving family by her side. at Copperleaf Assisted Living in Willmar. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2 at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar, and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Burial will be at Mamrelund Lutheran Cemetery, rural Pennock.

Linda was born on June 4th, 1948, in Jamestown, ND, the daughter of Luverne (Porky) and Patricia (Simmonds) Johnson. She grew up in Benson where she attended St. Francis Xavier Catholic School for 8 years and graduated from Benson High School in 1966. Linda met the love of her life, Norman Rohner, roller skating in Benson. Two years later, on March 14, 1970, they were united in marriage at Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer. They lived on a hobby farm near Atwater for a few years before moving to their farm north of Pennock where they milked cows for 26 years and farmed the land together until Norman’s passing in 2010. Together they shared just under 40 years of a wonderful marriage. Linda was a member of the Norway Lake Parish where she served on various boards including Food for Kids and Relay for Life. She spent many hours baking for every church bake sale.

To Linda, family was most important in her life. She did daycare for 9 of her 11 grandchildren. She never missed an event for any of them and was so proud of each of them. There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her grandkids. She loved family trips to Duluth every summer where they would stay in Canal Park. For over 20 years she and Norman would spend three days at the State Fair; that was their one getaway each year by themselves. Other than that, they were with their family every day. Linda loved baking, canning, flower gardening, preparing for and celebrating every holiday, but mostly spending any and all time with her family. She especially loved fair season and always enjoyed watching her kids and grandkids show all their animals.

Linda suffered many health problems during her life: for 50 years she had kidney issues, with numerous surgeries which resulted in losing a kidney. She suffered cancers, other health issues, and sadly had dementia the last few years of her life. She moved into Brookdale Assisted Living in September 2023. She moved to Copperleaf Memory care 5 weeks before her passing and was put on Hospice 2 ½ weeks before she passed. Linda’s family is grateful to the staff at Brookdale, Copperleaf and St Croix Hospice for taking such excellent care of our mom. The wonderful care you gave her will always be remembered.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Pam (Darren) Rohner Swart of Pennock, Monica Rohner of Pennock, Melissa (Jeff) Beyer of Boyden IA, LaNae (Matt Loppnow) Rohner, Pennock. She is survived by 11 grandchildren, Tanner (Chloe), Dacotah, Madison, Gavin, Caitlyn, Taylor, Macy, Colton, Libby, Narissa, and Kody. Also surviving are her siblings, Diana (Steve) Johnson, of Kandiyohi, brother-in-law John Christenson of Willmar, Doug Johnson of Scarborough, ME, Joe (Kay) Johnson of Willmar, John (Becky) Johnson of Forest Lake, Cindy Johnson of Hutchinson, and several other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her husband Norman, her parents, her sister Vicki and brother Daniel at birth.
