Lloyd Brandt

Lloyd Brandt of Puyallup, WA, passed away on July 3rd, at the age of 98. He was surrounded by family members at the time of his passing. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 27th at the Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Willmar next to his wife of 72 years, Caroline.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Lloyd’s name to a hospice of your choice.  www.hafh.org

Lloyd was born September 10, 1920, in Arena Township, Lac Qui Parle County, Minnesota to Carl P. and Emilie K. (Roth) Brandt.  He attended school in Madison, Minnesota.  He lived and worked on farms with his father in Lac Qui Parle County until he married Caroline I. Goetsch on December 28, 1941.  They continued to farm in the Nassau and Bellingham area until 1957 when they sold all of their farm animals and equipment and moved to Willmar.

Lloyd worked at the Willmar State Hospital as a hospital service assistant until his retirement in 1985. As an LPN, he continued to work part time at the State Hospital after his retirement.  After several years he truly retired so that they could do more traveling and spend time with family.  He was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Willmar for 56 years.

He moved to Puyallup, WA in April of 2013 with his wife Caroline.

Lloyd has left behind to celebrate his life daughter Karen Buchman of Puyallup WA; son Lyle and his wife Greta Brandt of Hooksett NH; daughter-in-law Kathy Brandt of Mesa AZ; 7 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.  Also celebrating him are sister Arlene Karls of Madison MN; Ethel Klepel of Brownton MN as well as many nieces and nephews.

He has gone to be with his wife Caroline, son Rolland; his parents; a grandson Kevin Brandt; a great grandson Nathan Lee and 3 sisters.
