Loretta Winter, 73, formerly of Kerkhoven, died Sunday, February 14th at Good Shepherd Community in Sauk Rapids. There will be a visitation from 5-7pm, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26th at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. wwww.hafh.org
Loretta was born November 20, 1947, in Graceville, Minnesota, the daughter of Francis and Mary (Blasey) Seifert. She grew up on a farm near Grey Eagle. She attended and graduated from Grey Eagle High School in 1965. Loretta was united in marriage to Kenneth Winter on August 24, 1968. They started their family in Little Sauk, MN with four children. The family moved to Kerkhoven in 1976.
Loretta worked for Winter Brothers Trucking, Simmonds Produce, and Molenaar Inc. She retired from Molenaar Inc. in 2008 and worked part-time at KMS High School as a ‘lunch lady’. She enjoyed doing puzzles and crosswords; playing Farkle, solitaire, and family games; reading; and visiting with friends and family.
Surviving are her children: Nancy (Alan Feldhege) Geurtz of Sauk Rapids; Rodney (and Johne) Winter of Murdock; Lyle Winter of DeGraff; Steven (and Staci) Winter of Andover; Grandchildren: Vanessa (Derek) Ugland, Traci (Daniel) Miller, Jordan (Amy) Geurtz, Jenny (Paul) Feldhege, Brittany (Erick) Mumm, Aidan Winter, Addison Winter; Great Grandchildren: Theodore & Maelin Ugland, Calvin & Bennett Miller, Noah Mumm.
Also surviving are her ex-husband: Ken Winter; brothers and sisters: Mary Anne (Bernie) Schroeder, Trudy (Jerry) McCornack, Jim (Margie) Seifert, Charles (Diane) Seifert, Tony (Maddie) Seifert, Agnes (Jim) Jensen, and Richard (Cheryl) Seifert; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marie & Patty Seifert; and brother, John Seifert.
