Louise Ray Obituary

Louise Ray, 83, of Willmar, Minnesota, died Sunday, May 17 at Pierz Villa in Pierz, Minnesota.  A private graveside service will take place at Binford Cemetery in Binford, North Dakota. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson & Johnson Funeral Home in Willmar.

Louise Shirley Ray was born on October 5, 1942, to Ole and Sigfrid (Overby) Hagle in Staples, Minnesota. During her early childhood, her family moved to Binford, North Dakota, where she was raised and attended Binford High School, graduating in 1960. Following high school, Louise worked for Prudential Insurance and transferred to one of their branches in California. 

On June 29, 1967, Louise was united in marriage to Murray Ray in Salinas, California. Together they were blessed with one daughter, Heather.

After returning to North Dakota, Louise and Heather made their home in Valley City where Louise worked in the business office at Mercy Hospital.

In the early 1980's, Louise began work at St. Gabriels Hospital in Little Falls, Minnesota, as the business office manager. Louise spent several years there before she ended her career working at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, Minnesota, as the business office manager.  

In her retirement, Louise enjoyed painting, crafting, day trips to plays and concerts, spending time with her seniors' group, and playing games. She especially enjoyed dining at Red Lobster. Louise also had a caring heart for others. She was a passionate supporter of animal charities as well as many other charitable organizations.

Louise is survived by her daughter, Heather Ray; and her brother, Kenneth Hagle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ole and Sigfrid Hagle; her sister, Elizabeth Hagle; and an infant brother.
