LuAnn Knott, age 91, of Willmar, formerly of Raymond, died February 14, 2021, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home from natural causes. She was able to have a Valentine’s Day date in heaven with her beloved husband, Don.
Memorial services for LuAnn will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the United Methodist Church in Raymond or the Bethesda Foundation. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.
LuAnn Caroline Guri Knott was born January 2, 1930, in Sunburg, Minnesota, to Christian and Lena (Swenson) Korsmo. She grew up on a farm near Lake Florida and attended school in the New London School District. After graduation from high school, LuAnn attended the St. Cloud State Teachers College and began teaching elementary school in Raymond, Minnesota. On June 28, 1951, she married Don Knott and made the transition to the life of a farmer’s wife. They raised their five children in the area. In 1985, Don and LuAnn moved to the Minneapolis area, where they worked as caretakers for physically disabled adults. They retired in 1995 and moved back to Raymond. After returning to Raymond, LuAnn worked for several years at the Raymond Library.
During her life, LuAnn was active in the Raymond community in various parent and school organizations and as a Girl Scout leader. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Raymond, where she was active in the Methodist Women’s Club and all other aspects of the church.
She is survived by her children: Donna Knott (Donald Lewis) of Kenedy, TX, Karen (Mike) Hauser of Willmar, MN, Marie Knott (Gary Fried) of Willmar, MN, Wayne (Carmen) Knott of Raymond, MN, and Larry (Julie) Knott of South St. Paul, MN. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and siblings: Florence (Jim) Netland of Willmar, MN, and Kenneth (Elaine) Korsmo of Raymond, MN.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Christian and Lena Korsmo; her husband: Donald Knott in 2017; siblings: Conrad Korsmo and Helen Geer; and a grandson, Jamison Knott.
