Marie E. Glieden, 88, of Belgrade, died Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Country Living Adult Foster Care in Henning. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Belgrade. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade.
Marie Elizabeth Glieden was born on December 28, 1931, in St Martin to Peter and Anna (Buermann) Ehresmann. She had 5 brothers and 7 sisters. She was united in marriage to George Glieden on May 30, 1950. They lived on a farm near Brooten. In 1962, they moved to Belgrade, where she worked side by side with George on the farm. She loved the outdoors, supported the family farm and believed in collective bargaining with fair commodity prices for all farmers. For 23 years she was an editor for the NFO monthly newsletter.
Marie loved to wear hats and had one for every occasion. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, baking & gardening. She was an excellent seamstress and liked sewing her own clothes, quilting, making Christmas tree skirts and Barbie doll clothes. She loved fishing and always had her tackle box ready to go. She was a member of the Christian Women at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.
Marie is survived by her children, Mike of Belgrade, Nick (Sandy) of Fargo ND, Mary (Gary) Pearson of Alexandria, Grace Olson and (Bryan Holtkamp) of Glenwood & Margie (Kevin) Anderson of Deer Creek; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren & one on the way; sister, Eileen Kremers, brother, Greg Ehresmann and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Marie in death were her husband, George; sons-in-laws, Bill Lundberg and Rodney Olson; and several brothers & sisters.
