Marilyn L. Deadrick, 89, of Paynesville, died Thursday, November 4, 2021, at the Paynesville Care Center in Paynesville. A private family service will be held.
Marilyn Lucille Deadrick was born on February 18, 1932, on the family farm in the Zion Township near Paynesville, the daughter of Harry and Frances (Schmiginsky) Schoenleben. She was baptized on June 4th, 1933 at the EUB Church in Paynesville. Marilyn grew up on the family farm where she attended Roscoe Elementary School and went on to graduate from Paynesville High School with the Class of 1949.
On September 8, 1950, Marilyn was united in marriage to Ed Deadrick at the EUB Church in Paynesville. This union was blessed with a daughter and two sons. The family made their home in Paynesville where Marilyn was a wonderful homemaker as well as working at Koronis Ministries and Koronis Manor. On October 23, 2000, Ed passed away. They shared in 50 years of marriage before his death.
Marilyn was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville. She was active there teaching Sunday School, as a member of the funeral committee, and the Naomi and Joanna Circles. She was also a member of the Swaps Club and a Cub Scout den mother. Marilyn enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and baking. She loved spending time with her family especially all the time she spent getting to take care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Marilyn is survived by her children: Tom (Nancy) Deadrick of Paynesville, Tim (Kathy) Deadrick of New London, and Sue (Bill) Korman of Hawick; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ed; great-grandson Cole; and her sister, Deloris Schultz.
