Marjorie Belinsky Obituary

Marjorie Ann Belinsky, 87, of Willmar, died Monday, May 15th, at GlenOaks Care Center in New London.  Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 24th at Church of St. Mary in Willmar with interment in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at the church.  Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. www.hafh.org

Marge was born April 29, 1936, at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar, the daughter of Otis and Ann (Heveron) Gunderson.  She grew up in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1954.  Following high school, Marge worked as a receptionist for REA.  During this time, she met this young man, Frank Belinsky, who was stationed here while serving in the Air Force.  Their first encounter wasn’t the most graceful, as Frank was enjoying a meal at Blue Chip Café downtown when he accidentally burned Marge’s jacket with his cigarette!

They were united in marriage on July 5, 1957 in Bessemer, MI, and later had their vows blessed at Church of St. Mary in Willmar.  Marge stayed home to care for Frank and their children.

Marge volunteered at church, serving food for many funerals, was an avid crossword puzzle solver, enjoyed playing cards, bowling and planting and growing flowers.  She also liked watching the birds, and was especially happy when the cardinals returned each spring.  She enjoyed a trip to the casino, traveling with Frank on many RV trips, but her greatest enjoyment came from spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as attending family reunions.

Surviving are her husband, Frank, of 65 years; children, Linda Bloom of Anoka and Michael (Jean) Belinsky of Litchfield; three grandchildren, Steven (Kayla) Belinsky, April (Todd) Griffith and Jennifer (Charlie) Mitchell, and nine great grandchildren: Rachel, Katy, Isaac, Kaiden, Kylie, Abby, Kaleah, Kendalyn, and Luke.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Sharon Kay Belinksy and son, Ronald Frank Belinsky. and grandson, Ryan Bloom.
