Marlene Radunz, 80, of Willmar, died Wednesday, September 4th at St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud. Her funeral will be 11:00 am, Tuesday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Willmar with burial in Clover Leaf Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Monday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service at the church.
Marlene was born on April 23, 1939, in Paynesville, MN, the daughter of Virgil and Mildred (Farnum) Caldwell and she attended Paynesville Public Schools.
On February 9, 1957, she was united in marriage Rolland “Bud” Radunz in Hawick. Following their marriage, they lived in Kandiyohi, Willmar and Spicer. Following Bud’s death in 2015, she moved into Willmar.
Marlene enjoyed staying home, raising her children and tending to her home. Her home was also the home for many of her children’s friends who often referred to her and Bud as, “mom and dad.” She enjoyed quilting, gardening and most recently working puzzles with her friends. Marlene also helped Bud for many years at the Kandiyohi County Historical Society with the train displays.
Surviving are her children: Debbie (and Aaron) Birr of Eden Valley; Tammy (and Sam) Gottwald of Pennock; and Ron (and Theresa) Radunz of New London; six grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. Also surviving are her brother, Harley (and Sandy) Caldwell of Hawick; sister-in-law, Jean Radunz of Willmar and brother-in-law, Don (and Susan) Radunz of Spicer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bud, brother, Duane (and Elaine) Caldwell, brother-in-law, Curtis Radunz and two great grandsons.
