Marlo Thomas Zimmerman was born August 30, 1951, in Montevideo to Frank and Hazel (Ryan) Zimmerman. He was baptized and later confirmed in the Catholic faith. Marlo attended school in Appleton where he graduated from high school. Following his graduation, he and his parents moved to Willmar where Marlo started working at Kindle Hope. He eventually started working at West Central Industries where he operated a saw and disassembled wood pallets. He loved working at WCI and making friends with his co-workers and other staff. Marlo also enjoyed trains, bicycles, telling stories and watching movies. He had between 2,000-3,000 DVDs! He could be spotted riding his bike all over town and buying ice cream for his friends whenever he could. Marlo would often ride his bicycle to the railroad station where he would watch the trains and also visit with the railroaders. Marlo was a people person and took every chance he could to take a picture with a friend. He was a loving son, brother, uncle and friend.  Marlo was the first client of Divine House.  He was very independent and lived on his own.  Marlo’s niece, Mary, who was employed by Divine House, took care of him the last twenty years of his life.
