Mary Ann Muedeking

Mary Ann Muedeking, 81, formerly of Willmar, went to be with her Lord on Monday, August 26, 2024. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Friday, August 30th at Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to her service. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred. Her service will be livestreamed at https://www.ourlivingwater.org/marym.html . Mary Ann Muedeking was born April 13, 1943, to Valere and Martha (Seys) Pluym in St. Clair, Minnesota. She attended St. Clair District 86, before graduating from Mapleton High School in 1961. Mary Ann furthered her education at Mankato State University where she majored in English and Social Studies, graduating in 1965. Mary Ann was united in marriage to Dave Childs and to this union five children were born: Debra, Pamela, Julie, Suzanne, and Daniel. Mary Ann and Dave later divorced. Mary Ann started teaching at New Ulm Cathedral High School and eventually taught in Janesville, Waseca and Mankato. Mary Ann later moved to Willmar where she started a new career as a Farmers Insurance agent. She enjoyed meeting her new clients and helping them in any way she could. On September 19, 1993, Mary Ann was united in marriage to Michael Muedeking in Waldorf. They enjoyed wintering in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, which they did for eight years before moving there permanently in 2018. Mary Ann enjoyed reading, sewing, flower gardening, baking, cooking and entertaining her family and friends. She was a devout catholic, loving wife, and great mother and wonderful grandma.

Mary Ann is survived by her husband, Michael Muedeking; daughter, Deb (Mike) Berens and their children: Hannah, Emily, Sally (Stephen) and Jack; daughter, Pamela (Brad) Guss and their children: Adam (Heather), Libby, and Becca; daughter, Julie (Brad) Neaton and their children: Jessica (Shayne), Jennifer and Allison (Josh); daughter, Sue (Tom) Holmquist and their son Jayden (Mikayla); son, Daniel (Katherine) Childs and their children: Valerie and Josh; step-son Michael Jr (Kari) and their children: Max and Luke; and step-daughter, Shannon (Travis) Gerhardt and their daughter Ada; great-grandchildren: Olivia, Hunter, Ella, Gracelyn, Sam, and another on the way. She is also survived by her siblings: Bob (Janet) Pluym, Beverly Kemp, Barbara Stickler, Jerome (Carol) Pluym, Nancy (Greg) Wilke and Geralyn (Tom) Van Rossum.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, George; In-laws, Harold and Irene Muedeking, and brothers-in-law, Elton Stickler and Tom Kemp.
