Michael Peter Quisberg

Michael Peter Quisberg, 78, of St. Paul, passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury. His memorial service will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 24 at Grace Lutheran Church in Belgrade. Visitation will be one hour prior to his service. Burial will be at Grace West Cemetery in Belgrade. Michael was born on August 19, 1946, to Henry and Jennie (Northrup) Quisberg in Belgrade, Minnesota. He was baptized and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Belgrade and graduated from Belgrade High School in 1964. Following high school, Michael proudly served in the United States Navy and was stationed in Pensacola, FL on the USS Lexington.

On October 29, 1969, he married Gerrie Moritz at Grace Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in St. Paul and were blessed with two children, Michael Jr. and Missy. They later divorced.

On June 30, 1990, he married Shirley Umphrey in Maryland. They resided in St. Paul, where Michael worked as a superintendent for Diversified Construction. He retired in 2021 after 30 years with the company.

Michael loved to work - he was a workaholic. The only thing he loved more was his time spent with family. At family gatherings, he was always asked to make his famous tuna salad. He also found joy in farming, hunting, fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; his children: Michael Jr. (grandchild: Michael Quisberg III) and Missy Quisberg (grandchildren: Lexi (Joel) Krueger, Rj Murphy, and Braxten Murphy); great-grandchildren: Daisy and Holly Krueger; stepdaughter, Tara Teach. He is further survived by his siblings: Kurt (Mary) Quisberg, Shirley (Jim) Swenson, Barb Anderson, and Kevin (Diane) Quisberg, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends, who will carry his memory forward.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew, John Anderson, and his brother-in-law, Doug Anderson.
