Mildred Leona Syverson, 96, of Willmar, died Friday, December 13th at GlenOaks Senior Living in New London. Her memorial service will be at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 10th at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Clover Leaf Cemetery in Willmar, www.hafh.org.
Mildred Leona Syverson was born October 22, 1928, to Alfred and Mabel (Skare) Erdelt in Pierre, South Dakota. On June 19, 1948, she was united in marriage to Gunner O. Syverson. They made their home in Willmar and continued to live there for 60 years. Mildred and Gunner were members at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. Mildred worked at Willmar Poultry Company in Willmar where she sorted the poults. She continued to work there for 20 years before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking for her family, and never missed an opportunity to give a grandchild a pastry or other baked goods. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially over the holidays where she would make lefse. She was a loving wife, mom, grandma and friend.
Mildred is survived by her daughter: Lois (Reuben “Joe”) Hamstad of Spicer; 5 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 2- great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Doris Pearce of New Brighton, Lyla (Darrell) Steenerson of Medina, OH, Betty Kirkman of Duluth, Nolan (Judy) Erdelt of Springfield, OR, Darlene Peters of Farmington and Marvin (Sharon) Erdelt of Willmar.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gunner; parents, daughter, Judy Rasmusson, and siblings: Ernest Erdelt, Arnold Erdelt and Mary Ann Erdelt.
