Mildred Tebben, age 90, of Clara City, died Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at Bethesda Grand Nursing Home in Willmar.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City and will be live-streamed on the church's Facebook page. Interment will be at the church cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 14, at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Clara City and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to Carris Health Rice Hospice.
Mildred Jean Tebben was born January 22, 1931, in Sioux County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Geraldine (Vander Schaaf) Wolfswinkel. She was baptized at First Reformed Church in Hull, Iowa. She moved with her family to Clara City, Minnesota, where she graduated from Clara City High School. On June 17, 1948, she married John A. Tebben at her parents’ farm and they made their home in Clara City.
Her faith and her family were the most important aspects of Millie’s life. She was an active member of Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City, where she served as choir director, taught Catechism, and was active with Ladies Aid. She enjoyed spending winters in Arizona and summers at their cabin on Lake Florida. She loved spending time with her family and hosted a week of “Grandma Camp” with her grandchildren each summer.
Mildred is survived by her four children: Mike (and Judy) Tebben of New London, MN, Judy Tebben of Otsego, MN, Scott Tebben of St. Louis Park, MN, and Sue (and Doug) Toov of Sunburg, MN; ten grandchildren: Carissa Tebben, Aleah (and Jordan) Norwood, Jenna (and Logan) Rohs, Ashley (and Andy) Schmidt, Kali (and Taylor) Boston, Tenille (and Trent) Flegel, Justin Holmgren, Amanda (and Paul) Reeb, Erica Clauson, and Adam (and Emily) Toov; and fourteen great-grandchildren: Avery and Breck Ranschau, Franni and Isaiah Norwood, Connor and Kyleigh Schmidt, Declan and Renick Boston, Paul and Silas Reeb, Jordin and Maxwell Clauson, and Aubrey and Paisley Toov; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law; her husband: John A. Tebben in 2004; a sister: Joan Wolfswinkel; three brothers: Ervin, Robert, and Willis Wolfswinkel; a sister-in-law: Dorothy Ordahl, and a brother-in-law: Harlan Tebben.
