Milton Ray Wubben was born on December 1, 1954, to Martin and Ida (Meyer) Wubben in Montevideo, Minnesota. He grew up on the family farm outside of Clara City and graduated from Clara City High School in 1972. Following high school, Milt began working for a local farmer, a role he enjoyed for several years before starting his own farming operation in 1982.
On December 10, 1983, Milt was united in marriage to Debra Marcus at Roseland Reformed Church. Together they built a life and raised their three children: Holli, Travis, and Ryan, on their farm north of Clara City.
Milt was a faithful and steadfast man whose life was rooted in hard work, humility, and love. Farming was not just his livelihood but his calling, and he continued to farm for over 42 years, never fully stepping away from the land he loved. He took great pride in being able to pass his legacy on to his children.
A devoted husband, dad, and grandpa, Milt’s greatest joy came from time spent with his family. His humble spirit and gentle strength were evident in everything he did. He lived out his faith daily, maintaining a close relationship with God and encouraging family to keep the faith.
Milt is survived by his loving wife, Deb; children Holli (Brian) Jans, Travis (Bailey) Wubben, and Ryan (Ashlie) Wubben; grandchildren Bethany and Audra Jans, and Averi, Brooks, and Tatum Wubben; and sisters Virgene (Jerry) Kanstrup, Shirley (Neil) Olson, and Nancy Magnuson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Ida; and brother-in-law, Jerry Magnuson.
