Morgan Hoffer, 28, of Willmar, died Saturday, October 16, 2021, at his home in Willmar. Although there were many victories along the way, he lost a lifelong battle with physical and mental health issues.
His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 22, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Kandiyohi. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation for Morgan will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, October 21, at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.
Morgan Jerome Hoffer was born September 1, 1993, in Willmar, Minnesota, to Paul and Lisa (Wittman) Hoffer. He grew up in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 2011. While in school, Morgan enjoyed studying math and science. Following high school, Morgan attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa to study mathematics. He returned to Willmar and began working at JMD Manufacturing. He currently worked as a shift supervisor at KwikTrip in Willmar.
Morgan was a gifted musician and could play guitar by ear. While in high school, he formed a Christian rock band with his friends and they performed around the area. He later performed on his own at numerous venues in the area and at the New London Music Festival. He enjoyed working out, working on his house, and walking his dog, usually while wearing his earbuds and listening to rap music or Howard Stern. He was a good friend with a heart of gold and would do anything to help anyone.
He is survived by his parents: Paul Hoffer and Lisa Hoffer, both of Willmar; his twin sister: Karlie Hoffer of San Diego, CA; siblings: Adam (Deb) Hoffer of Clara City, Alexandra (Ryan) Peterson of Pennock, and Solenne Ruff of Willmar; and his nieces and nephews: London Hoffer, and Aiden & Neela Peterson. Also surviving are his maternal grandparents: Kenneth and Jeannie Wittman of Willmar; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and his beloved dog, Maximus and cat, Oliver.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Edward and Stella Hoffer; and great-grandparents: Jerome and Mercedes Ruskamp, and Arthur and Dorothy Wittman.
