Myra J. Reining, 85 of Spicer, died Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 29, 2022 at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church in Spicer. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 11:00 am at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in New London.
Myra Jeanne Reining was born on June 26, 1937 on the family farm in Colfax Township, the daughter of Louise Kaack. She attended country grade school and Belgrade High School, graduating in 1955. She continued her education at St. Cloud State University and Wartburg College in Iowa. On October 4, 1958, Myra was united in marriage to Werner Reining in Belgrade. They made their home in Minneapolis, New Brighton and Stewartville.
In Stewartville she worked as a Title I paraprofessional and was active in the church teaching CCD classes. In 1995, the couple retired and moved to Spicer where she was an active volunteer at Our Lady of the Lakes Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Myra enjoyed music, gardening, reading, attending reunions and social events, visiting with friends, traveling with Werner and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Myra died on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Rice Memorial Hospital at the age of 85. She is survived by her husband, Werner of 64 years; children, Robert (Mary) Reining of Delano, Michele Baker of Moline, IL and Nancy Reining of Plymouth; two grandchildren, Jennifer Zimmerman and Brian (Liz) Baker and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and beloved aunts and uncles.
