Pauline Annette (Grussing) Freiborg was born August 15, 1932, in Rheiderland Township, south of Bunde, to Henry and Elizabeth (Tebben) Grussing. She grew up on the family farm in the Bunde area and attended District 12 Country School.  She married Peter Freiborg on September 22, 1950, and they made their home on the Freiborg family farm near Sacred Heart.   They farmed until 1988, when they moved into Clara City.  Pauline most recently lived at Bethesda Sunrise Village in Willmar.

Pauline was a devoted member of Bethany Church in Clara City, and was involved in Pairs & Spares, Bible study, prison ministry, and various women’s groups. Her strong faith in the Lord as her Savior was at the core of her life, and her church family was deeply important to her.  She had a love for square dancing and quilting, creating many beautiful quilts that were cherished by family and friends. Alongside Pete, she traveled extensively, exploring numerous destinations across the United States and visiting several countries abroad. She treasured time spent with her family, especially cooking meals, hosting family gatherings, and enjoying summers at the cabin on Lake Florida. A devoted mother and grandmother, Pauline spent much of her life supporting her children and attending the many events and activities of her grandchildren.

Pauline is survived by her five children: Marvin (Pamela M.) Freiborg of Sedalia, MO, Mary (David) Honken of Blomkest, Dan (Rhonda) Freiborg of Spicer, Randy (Stephanie) Freiborg of New London, and Julie (Scott) Abbas of Renville; 15 grandchildren: Jeremy (Tina), Gina (Matthew), Christina, Nathan (Emily), Jonathan (Shayla), Jessica (Marc), Aimee (Mark), Jodi (Brock), Philip (Allison), Jena, Carly (Steven), Abby (Ryan), Heidi (Aaron), Haley (Ryan) and Corey (Lauren); 37 great-grandchildren; her brother: Louis (Marilyn) Grussing of Willmar; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Peter in 2008; a brother: Elmer Grussing; three sisters: Katie Feldman, Jessie Roskens, and Harriet Ulferts; and two grandchildren: Robbie Freiborg and Sheri Freiborg.
