Peggy Thompson Obituary

Margaret Mae "Peggy" Thompson (Minchow), 72, passed away peacefully at Cura of Willmar while receiving hospice care on May 17, 2025.

Peggy was born September 9, 1952, to Edward "Eddie" and Darlene Minchow in Minneapolis Minnesota, where she lived most of her life. Peggy attended Edison Senior High School in Minneapolis. She worked in plastics foundry, first at Schilling Inc. in Minneapolis then at Invest Cast in Columbia Heights. She loved music (Queen, Janis Joplin, and Elvis were at the top of her list), playing darts, dancing, watching scary movies, watching videos on her tablet, and bowling, but most importantly loved her family deeply. Peggy had an amazing sense of humor, laugh, and beautiful singing voice.

Peggy moved from Fridley, to Benson in October 2021 when her health began to decline to be near her daughter who became her caregiver until she moved to Scandi Haven in August 2023.

Peggy is survived by her daughter: Angie Thompson of Benson (formerly of Minneapolis), grandchildren: Amber (Jesse) Tyge, and Nick Dalench; great-granddaughter: Scarlett Rose; and sisters: Darla Jones and Kathy Minchow. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Edward and Darlene Minchow; sisters: Sherry Jones and Karen Minchow; and nephew: Bobby Minchow.

Thank you to the staff at Scandi Haven in Benson Minnesota, Divine Home Care and Hospice, her home health nurse Lindsey Nichols who she loved and adored very much, Rice Memorial Wound Clinic in Willmar Minnesota, CentraCare Hospice, Cura of Willmar and CentraCare Clinic of Benson for taking such good care of mom.

Peggy may be gone physically, but she will remain in our hearts and memories forever.
