Phyllis J. Roediger, 92, of Litchfield, formerly of New London, died Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at Bethany Memory Care in Litchfield. Her funeral service will be 4:00 pm, Monday, September 13, 2021, at the Johnson Funeral Home in New London. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in New London. A visitation will be held from 2-4:00 pm on Monday prior to the service.
Phyllis Jean Roediger was born on June 26, 1929, the daughter of Gerald and Hazel (Aisles) Shoemaker, in Sidney, Ohio. She grew up in Sidney where she received her education, graduating from Sidney High School. On June 15, 1948, Phyllis was united in marriage to Paul Roediger. This union was blessed with a daughter and two sons. The family made their home in Sidney, Ohio, and Hudson, Wisconsin before moving to New London, Minnesota in 1957. Phyllis worked with Paul in their bait business and also as an administrative assistant at the Presbyterian Family Foundation in Willmar. On September 15, 2013, Paul passed away. They shared in 65 years of marriage before his death.
Phyllis was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in New London. She enjoyed Fishing with Paul at their lake home on Lake Of The Woods and wintering in Florida. Above all else, Phyllis loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Colleen Knapp of Elk River, Kerry (Colleen) Roediger of Brooten, and Keith (Mary) Roediger of Darwin; grandchildren, Chris (Kim) Riley, Alison (Brandon) Maier, James (Todd) Lehnhoff, Travis (Emily) Roediger, Trever (Stephanie) Roediger, Carissa Swanson (special friend, Justin Wagner), Cassandra Roediger, and Abby Roediger (fiancé, Garrett Meyer); great-grandchildren, Mack and Alex Riley, Peyton and Addison Maier, Ayla and Piper Roediger, Bella, Maddie, and Harper Roediger, Adriana and Aaliyah Swanson, and Andon, Owen, and Waylynn Wagner; her sister Linda Weikert and many nieces and nephews.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; son-in-law, Tom Knapp; and brother, Dale Shoemaker.
