Rachel Renee Huddleston was born on February 22, 1991, in Houston, Texas to John and Julie (Stehn) Muffley. She grew up in Houston and graduated from Cypress Falls High School in 2009. After high school, Rachel worked in various childcare facilities. Rachel loved children, especially children with special abilities. On June 14, 2019, she married Jonathan William Huddleston, the love of her life. Unfortunately, shortly after their marriage, Rachel was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's T-cell Lymphoma. Despite the diagnosis, Rachel had a very positive outlook and fought like a boss.
Rachel had a very large extended family. She enjoyed her many road trips to Illinois and Minnesota to visit family. She loved going to Green Lake in the summers and driving the pontoon with no hands. She and Jonathan loved eating out together. They especially loved Italian and Mexican restaurants. They also enjoyed trips to Surfside Beach, where they would drive the golf cart and look at the water from afar. In 2021, Rachel and Jonathan were overjoyed to welcome Haley James Huddleston to the world. Haley is a true miracle baby. Rachel was a natural caregiver and was a loving mother to Haley. She really enjoyed shopping for Haley. Rachel always aspired to do things and had a positive outlook. Rachel left many imprints on people’s lives, from her students to coworkers and her friends. As well as the different medical professionals she met at her many appointments.
Rachel passed away due to complications from HLH on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at MD Anderson at the age of 31. Her loving husband was at her side.
She is survived by her husband, Jonathan; daughter, Haley; parents, John and Julie Muffley; her brother, Roger; and grandparents, Roger and Alice Stehn. As well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Leonard and Helen Muffley; her Great-Grandma Marie; and her uncles Bill and Jim Muffley.
